Portugal defeats Ghana in the debut

With five goals in the second half, Portugal beat Ghana by 3 to 2 this Thursday, at the 974 stadium, in Doha, in the debut of the group stage in the World Cup in Qatar. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring from the penalty spot, in the 19th minute of the second stage, and became the first athlete in the history of the tournament to score goals in five different editions.

After the goal, the match gained an air of emotion and a lot of movement. André Ayew equalized for Ghana, in the 27th minute. Five minutes later, João Félix put Portugal ahead again, and Rafael Leão increased the lead. In the 43rd minute, Bukari gave new hope to the Ghanaians, after taking advantage of Baba’s cross and heading in the back. But it ended like this: Portuguese victory by 3 to 2 in the debut.

Portugal’s first goal went down in World Cup history. From the penalty spot, Cristiano Ronaldo became the first athlete to score at least one goal in five different editions of the tournament. CR7 hit hard in the right corner of Ati Zigi, who even jumped to the right corner, but couldn’t defend.
